Michael L. Jones is the pastor and founder of Harvest
Community Church, PCA in Birmingham, Alabama. He
is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but
moved to Birmingham in 1984, after completing a B.
A. degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta,GA.
He earned his Masters of Religious Education from
Birmingham Theological Seminary in 2000.
For eleven years (1984-95) he worked with churches in the community and business
people in the workplace through a ministry called Here’s Life Birmingham, a division
ofCampus Crusade for Christ International.
During his time with Here’s Life Birmingham, Michael also served as an associate minister
of Sardis Baptist Church, Birmingham, under the leadership of Pastor Samuel P.
Pettagrue, Jr
In 1995 "Pastor Mike" and his wife, Kimberly, a 1984 Spelman graduate,began laying
the foundation for Harvest Community Church whose mission is to become a “Community of
Worshipers, Committed to Christ, Commissioned to Serve & Called to Pray without
Ceasing.”
Kimberly has been Pastor Mike's partner in ministry from the very
beginning and is the Music Director at Harvest. Pastor Mike & Kim have four daughters:
Candace, Temperance, Christina & Tiara.
