Michael L. Jones (Pastor Mike) is the pastor and founder of Harvest CommunityChurch in Birmingham, Alabama.
In 1984 he completed his B.A. degree from Morehouse College, and in 2000 he earned his Masters in Religious Ed. from Birmingham Theological Seminary (BTS). For twelve years (1984-96) he worked with a ministry called, Here’s Life Birmingham, and served as an associate minister of Sardis Baptist Church, Birmingham, under the leadership of Pastor Samuel P. Pettagrue, Jr. On Easter Sunday 1996 Pastor Mike and his wife Kimberly launched the first public worship service of Harvest Community Church.

Served as Character Coach for the Birmingham Southern College Men’s Basketball program from 2016 until the college closed last year. He and his wife, Kimberly, have been married for 40 years and have four adult daughters: Candace, Temperance, Christina and Tiara, two son in laws, Patrick Alston & Kameron Porter, and one granddaughter, Ayla Rose Alston.
